As an Institute we follow or rather live the Ignatian spirituality. To keep on this path, we need to have an experience of the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, which will definitely not only anchor us on the life of Jesus Christ but also give us an experience of Him. Some members have done the exercise fully, we are still in need of training more who could be conducting Ignatian retreats for formative purposes.
The Institute of the Sisters of Our Lady of Good Counsel – Mbarara was started for the Mission: “Evangelization through Integral Formation and Education for the lowly of the Society”. It enhances its mission in collaboration with the Church through the following apostolates.- Teaching in Schools at all levels and Institutions of higher Learning.
- Offering of preventive and curative services in villages, health centres and Hospitals.
- Training of youths and adults in the knowledge and practice of faith
- Counselling and Family Ministry
- Involvement in Educational, Social, Communications and Human development programmes, particularly in rural areas within and outside Uganda
- Catechumens and pastoral work
- Agriculture
- Administration, Accounts, Secretarial work and any apostolate that fosters the mission of the Institute and the Church.
